CSUCC ITSO holds Tech Brief and Patent Draft Writeshop

Committed to their vision and mission in the academe, CSUCC-ITSO conducted the 2-day Tech Brief and Patent Draft Writeshop: A Continuing Faculty Capability Enhancement held at Amontay Beach Resort, Nasipit Agusan del Norte last August 03-04, 2023.

CSUCC ITSO Head, Prof. Flordeliza G. Alburo, particularly discussed the importance of the patent search and patent draft workshop among faculty who are part of the university as the university gears towards digital entrepreneurial university. She mentioned that the CSUCC-ITSO unit continually promotes the capacity to do patent search and draft, and the importance of IP Awareness among the culture of CSUCC and hopefully brought to the community. She ended her remarks with “When faculty members actively engage in professional development in terms of intellectual property, patent search, and patent draft, it sets an example for students to adopt a lifelong learning mindset. It promotes a culture of continuous improvement within the academic community.” Prior to the 2-day event, the team conducted an IP Awareness workshop and series of discussions.

Present on the first day of the activity is Dr. Deomila A. Basnig, Chancellor, and two esteemed panel of examiners Engr. Juven Luzorata and Mr. Melbert R. Bonotan. The first day presenters for their research output were Ms. Alecris V. Gregorio, Mr. Robert John D. Gipal, Mr.Leonard John V. Carrillo, Ms. Aileen Faye L. Satorre, and Ms. Julanie M. Limen. This marks another milestone to CSUCC-ITSO as a new breed of faculty members joins the vision and mission of CSUCC-ITSO.

Moreover, the second day of the workshop was attended by the University’s very own Vice President for Research, Development, Innovation, and Extension ,Doctor Jeffrey T. Dellosa, walked the participants through the RDIE Agenda of the university and the Vision and Mission of TTLO and ITSO of both campuses that is even always excited on the lurking elevation of research and innovation. He highlighted that in CSUCC- there’s even a bigger opportunity for innovation especially in terms of food. Indeed, the words of VP Dellosa always inspire every faculty member to believe and expand their expertise and commitment to professional development that assuredly can attract students, researchers, and funding opportunities which also enhances the institution’s competitiveness.

Lastly, he commended the effort of the CSUCC ITSO Team led by Dr. Alburo initiated the activity that involved collaboration with colleagues from the institutions or disciplines that fosters networking opportunities, knowledge sharing, and potential interdisciplinary research collaborations. The second day presenters for their research output were Ms. Charisse D. Galusan,Ms. Rhea Joy C. Gusano, Ms. Gisela Mai A. Chinedo, Mr. Jefferson M. Cuadra, Ms.Rica Florabel M. Remulta, and Ms. Kimberly C. Fong. All the presenters for the 2-day workshop acknowledge other members of the research output including their respective student mentees.

The 2-day activity ended with one of the most humbling and happiest remarks from the CSUCC ITSO Head, Dr. Flordeliza G. Alburo, as she shares her vision, enthusiasm, that through this activity and even beyond this activity will help the capability to thrive and achieve a greater height in research and innovation, and with boundless perspective and ideas on bringing CSU Cabadbaran Campus of becoming an Entrepreneurial Innovation University along with the vision of the University President Rolyn C. Daguil.

CSUCC RDE
